The news broke this afternoon that Manny Pacmano, the two-time world champion boxer, has been diagnosed with a heart condition.
The 29-year-old Pacquillo was reportedly forced to withdraw from a boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in May due to an unknown medical condition.
Mayweather, a former lightweight champion, knocked Pacmanoa out in less than five rounds at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The Associated Press (AP) reported that Pacmanós condition was a “complex” heart condition that was not life threatening.
A statement from his doctor, Dr. Michael Matera, read: “We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of a young man.
We have received a call from his family to let them know that he has passed away.
Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this time.
Our deepest sympathies go out to his family at this difficult time.”
The Associated Sport (AS) reported earlier today that Pacquilo’s condition had been referred to the Mayo Clinic.
