Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man in Hebron, and an Israeli soldier was wounded.
The Palestinian Maan news agency said the Palestinian was Muhammad al-Dwari.
He was 35.
The Israeli military said the soldier was lightly wounded in the shooting.
A Palestinian woman was also shot and killed.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but the IDF said it was an act of terrorism.
The West Bank is home to the vast majority of Palestinians.
It has been the scene of sporadic Palestinian attacks on Israelis, mostly carried out by Palestinian assailants.
