The Dolphins are a long way from making the playoffs and they’re on the verge of losing their last two games against the Panthers.
But the team is trying to avoid the same fate in a matter of days and hopes to have a better chance against the Ravens at home Sunday night.
The Dolphins (3-7) are still trying to win their first playoff game since the 2014 season and have been battling through injuries to key players for months.
They’ll have to bounce back against a Ravens team that is coming off a 30-19 loss to Atlanta and a 34-14 loss to Buffalo.
It was a big defeat, with the Dolphins allowing 27 first downs, including 14 sacks and two interceptions, as the Ravens sacked Joe Flacco four times.
The Ravens (2-8) will try to get back to winning ways after going 3-7 after losing their final three games.
Baltimore has been one of the worst teams in the NFL at holding opponents to more than 200 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 28 percent of the offensive plays.
It’s the worst showing by a Ravens offense since a 16-game losing streak in the 2007 season.
The Panthers are also coming off back-to-back losses.
Carolina has lost two in a row for the first time since 2011 and is 4-4 on the road.
The Bears (3, 6) are on the brink of another season sweep, as they are 0-7 in their last five games.
The offense has struggled since quarterback Josh McCown was replaced by Matt Barkley and now coach Lovie Smith is trying a different approach to the offense.
Smith said his focus is to take care of the running game and run the ball better.
The Cowboys (4-8), who are trying to bounce right from a 5-13 season, have lost four of five.
The defense is playing better and has allowed two touchdowns and no more than 300 yards rushing in each of its last three games while allowing a league-high 36 first downs.
